Our Warm-Up

(Click picture to enlarge and print.  It would look great on your fridge as a reminder.  Really, it would)

Here is Pixie, practicing our warm up sequence.  This warm-up is essentially half of a full sun salutation, eliminating downward dog, upward dog and the need to step that lonely foot up from downward dog, which many students find really hard to do with any sense of ease or grace.

This perfectly respectable sequence can be used to warm up the body, loosen the joints, strengthen the legs, open the shoulders and stretch the hips.  You can practice slowly, holding each pose for 3-5 breaths or practice faster, breathing in as you open, breathing out as the body closes and pausing the breath as the foot steps.

Practice with a teeny smile on your face because, after all, you are doing something really good for yourself and, therefore, for everyone who cares about you.
